About Us

Shabbalishous Hot Peppa Sauce brings forth the authentic and spicy flavors of the Caribbean. It is a mixture of habanero and scotch bonnet hot peppers, with specialized herbs and spices to create a synergistic burst of flavor for your palate. We pride ourselves in creating a product that is homemade and unique. It is made in the United States with a Caribbean backdrop. Our hot peppers are sourced in Pennsylvania and grown by Amish farmers. These farmers use only natural measures to grow their products as opposed to harmful herbicides and pesticides.

Kalvin Kristi, the owner of Shabbalishous was born in Brandon Hill, St. Andrew, Jamaica. Raised on a farm in his native country, he learned how to cultivate various vegetable crops. He arrived in the United States in 1999 as an innovative reggae artist. Upon arrival, he found culinary exciting. As a result, he decided to pursue an interest in culinary professionally. Kristi enrolled at the Culinary Arts Institute of Hudson County Community College in Jersey City, New Jersey where he received an AAS degree in Culinary Arts. For several years he was employed at the prestigious Chart House Restaurant chain located in Weehawken, NJ where he mastered all of the recipes prepared daily by the restaurant.

He also enjoyed farming in Pennsylvania producing assorted vegetable crops such as eggplants, poi, Guyanese base vegetables as well as various types of hot peppers for the purpose of making hot pepper sauce. It was there he decided to create his own brand of hot sauce.
